yup, just watch him pump out spirits and laugh, then later complain that the build is too good. try at least attacking him.

If the spirits are in the way, just kill them. Even at higher levels, the spirits have horrible armor and HP. You can cut yourself a path.

you guys keep whining while other teams and players are using their heads and beating this build. We've lost with this build because the other team was smart. Its not hard. Spot whining and start winning some HoH's with your own unique builds.

I wouldn’t get too used to that build because I imagine the dev team never intended that many spirit’s to be on a map at 1 time. I can understand 1 of each spirit maybe per team but 4 frozen soils in the same area sounds like an exploit to me.
Wow, thats a really ignorant outlook. This is a very skillful build, these guys figured out this great counter, and it works. Furthermore, they are able to lay out all these spirits? Why did your team let them, ever hear of an interupt. Kudos to the team that figured this build out.

Has anyone thought to use that one mesmer skill--Power Block, I think?--that interrupts a spell and blocks all spells of that domain for X number of seconds?

I've always wanted to use it on a monk, but I figure it'd work equally well on a spirit spammer.

Just one thing wrong there: Rituals are not spells, so you can't use that skill on them.

Otherwise, kudos to KCHS for their ritual-build. It's a pain to try to synchronize whole team-build to work with many rituals going on, but you managed it.

I think you need another pom-pom for your cheerleading routine. They had about 4 laided before we even engaged in fighting. The range on those things is quite large.

if the range is large, then why would they put down multiple spirits? the range is only large because of the multiple spirits. whats wrong with preparing before a fight? we dont see a ranger to into the middle of a battle THEN cast apply poison or conjure, they do it before hand.

You put down multiples because a single spirit is far too fragile to rely upon. You need to keep up multiples to make 'em stick.

Dear god! A team used a skill with a lengthy cast-time and an incrediably long duration before engaging in combat! What is the world coming to?

God, please quit whining and play the way the devs intended. Stop relying on elementalists to fill all your team slots without ever adapting to enemy strategies. A single ranger with distracting shot or warrior with disrupting chop is one counter to these "evil hax." Another is to force the enemies to come to you. Another is to kill the ritualist. Think WWSTD. What would Sun Tzu do?

Sorry for reserecting this thread,

It was actually pretty fun to play against these guys, we played em in a HoH, it was irritating at first, cause it was the king of the hill mission, they took the center, then we all stood there and waited till the 2 minute countdown, I believe the other guild was the Sissy Boys,

Then both us and the sissys rushed the middle, what ensued was the most bloody and freaking awesome battle ever, and in the end every single creature in the center was dead due to edge of extinction and its chain reaction on all the humans and spirits, except our teams ghostly hero, we won waiting for respawn.

I really do want to thank you for an awesomely fun match though, we talk about it in guild chat frequently =)

you have no idea how much we cry when that happens

Anyone else starting to see other spirit builds? We've been coming up against a couple recently.

As a Ranger I have to say

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHahahahahahaha

because it really is too funny. C'mon, someone found a counter to the FOTM and created a new FOTM. Some people lead, others follow. I hear a lot of bleating from the Air Ele crowd but no reason or logic (apart from wounded pride).

I finally got onto a group that was running this build. It was pretty funny to run in, since none of us ever died until we got to the hall. We did encounter another build that ran this, but they had a different take. They had an assload of mesmers, and all of the non-mesmers had a mesmer offsuit. They ran greater conflag and winter. I'm assuming they all had mantrs of frost, since we started doing shit for damage.

The counter that we finally concluded: Kill the Winters. As soon as I discovered this, I went around and killed about 6 winters, and had the team just kill winters while I followed the rangers around and interrupted their winter plantings. Luckily they only had 2 rangers with winter, and they weren't planting them at the same time, so I'd spend about 30 seconds on each and interrupted them most of the time.

I would have to say that the counter to this build is to bring interrupters, and take out the important spirits. Have the interrupters stop the spirits from being planted, and then start in on the very few monks. DoTs might be the key. Tainted Flesh?

we ran into this strategy vs kansas in the 6way with priest map. i must say, we had to stop and think a bit for this one. we fought them near our base, and ended up killing them + a few key spirits that were skrewing us a bit. we didnt have enough time to finish their priest off so we engaged again, this time, it was a bit easier killing them.

this build not surprisingly works in the hall of heroes or king of the hill types, im assuming mainly becuase of fertile season, but it's not that hard anywhere else.

GG!

Sure that wasn't us again? We ran that build not too long ago on a trial run.

It did alright but was too easily foiled.
